The Until Dawn cast and Mario Kart Wii... I pondered very long and very hard about this question... and return bearing real and true answers (headcanons and rambles ⬇️)

Beth: Insane MKWii goddess. Grew up on the game and played constantly. Put lots of time into learning a handful of ultra shortcuts and sometimes pisses everybody off by using these just for fun. The group can count on one hand the amount of times she hasn't gotten 1st. Can efficiently use any controller, but prefers the Wii classic controller. Put crazy time trials on every single track that remain unbeaten to this day. Not that Josh would ever beat them even if he could. She'll always be remembered through the ghosts she left. Josh has thought about booting the game up just to drive around with her again but... hasn't

Hannah: Prefers coin runners to racing. Peach main as soon as Beth became a Daisy main (matchies) chose the prettiest vehicle and is sticking with it <3 didn't play nearly as much as her siblings but did spend many hours watching both Beth and Josh grind glitches/time trials and stars. Wii wheel user!

Josh: Really good at this game. He can get fiercely competitive too, depending on who else is playing. Otherwise he's chill. Played almost as much as Beth did- and spent hours and hours trying to get stars on every cup to unlock Dry Bowser. He refused any help from Beth and celebrated for a week when he finally did it. Prefers how Jr feels to play and breaks him out when he's feeling particularly competitive but otherwise sticks to Dry Bowser because he's not letting that effort go to waste. Changes controller based on who he's racing, to "make it easier for you". Prefers the GameCube controller

Sam: Rarely ever places below 4th. She also grew up on this game through the Washingtons and has lots of fond memories spending sleepovers with it and the siblings. She's very humble, and doesn't usually say anything when getting 1st. She grins though (Josh loves that grin). Always down for battle mode! Plays with the Wii remote + nunchuck

Chris: Winning the custody battle over Rosalina with Emily. Usually when Em is also playing he doesn't get first dibs. So he goes Waluigi and mimics him every time he has a voice line. Funny at first but now it drives everyone (except Josh who joins in) insane. More and more often Em lets him have Rosalina just to spare herself from the constant Waluigi impressions. He's either really good or really bad depending on the tracks and typical MKWii luck. Goes for super fast vehicles with like no other good stats and either flies through courses and has super easy victories or has the worst time and comes dead last. Uses the GameCube controller

Ashley: Bad luck magnet. Hit by every shell. Trips on every banana. Once she used a bullet while over a gap and it just carried her into the abyss instead of saving her. She hasn't let this go and it happened 2 years ago. Vibes with Toadette and chooses her in any game she's an option. Also prefers coin runners and is usually content to just watch the others play. Another Wii wheel user!

Emily: Losing the custody battle over Rosalina with Chris. Goes with Birdo as an alternative. Is arguably even better when playing her. She was immediately amazing the first time she played. Gets really really competitive and Beth and Josh love the challenge and the intensity that comes with Emily's gloating and high confidence. Doesn't play the game outside of when at the Washington's but knows a good few shortcuts and tricks because she spent hours looking into it when she got home to ensure victory in the future. Plays with the Wii classic controller

Matt: Likes balloon battle and always pushes for team racing. Pretty average player. His character/kart combo is so light that he often gets bumped onto the off-road and pits, but he refuses to change. That's just a little guy right there in his little car! Something Matt appreciates. Really really insane on Rainbow Road for some reason. While being a Wii wheel user! Beth and Josh don't get how that's possible and hype him up every time

Mike: (Unknowingly at first) uses the best character/kart combo. Still gets 6th or lower 74% of the time. Always really cocky for some reason. Uses the plain Wii remote without the wheel (where is your whimsy, Michael?)

Jess: She got 1st once and brings this up any time anyone makes fun of her for hitting every possible obstacle. Still usually does better than Mike and is super vocal while playing, commenting on everything that happens. Wii remote + nunchuck

(Semi-Serious) Baby Name Predictions for Jeremiah + Hannah

Brynley Noelle and Brielle Grace. Is it coincidence that these 2 names are super matchy, or are Jeremiah + Hannah going for a theme? Is it a "B" theme? A "Br" theme? A theme in which the first and middle names of one child are mashed up to produce the first name of the next, Renesmee style?

(Ok, it's probably not that one, but you never know.)

Here are my predictions for Baby Duggar-Wissmann #3, which I believe will determine whether or not there is a name theme going on.

If they're doing a "B" theme:

As much as I love terrible baby names and themed sibsets, I'll be surprised if they actually are doing a letter theme. Anna is the only one who did a single letter theme, which seems more like a publicity move in keeping with the Duggar brand, back in the TLC days. I assume most of the Duggar kids didn't like how matchy it felt to have a name gimmick, and decided not to do that to their own kids.

Blakely. I hate this name, but it also feels like one that Hannah would like. They could make it even worse by going with Blakelyn.

Bethany or Bethan. Bethany is a little too traditional to match with a name like Brynley, so "Bethan" is a more modern alternative.

Bailey. Could also be used for a boy.

Berea. (Pronounced "bur-EE-uh") A bit of an oddball, but Berea is taken from a name in the Bible. You'll find a bunch of churches out there with "Berean" in the name.

Bennett. This is much more likely if they were having a son, but I don't think this out of the question for a girl.

If they're running with a "Br" theme:

This feels even less likely than the B theme, as it's even more restrictive. However, I do know a family with all Br names, including the mom and dad. (There were only 2 kids, Brittany and Brianna, so it wasn't that extravagant.)

Brenna. "Brenna Duggar" just sounds like it's already a name. I also think it's odd that Hannah hasn't used the middle name "Ann" yet (4 of her siblings have used that as a middle, as it's her mom's), and "Brenna Ann Duggar" feels like it could be a real name.

Brooke. No idea how close Jer + Hannah are to Joe + Kendra. If they associate a lot, they might not want to cause confusion with Brooklyn.

Briony or Bronwen. I regret to admit that I like both of these names, and they feel like classier versions of Brynley.

Brightly. Of the semi-serious suggestions I've seen, this one feels possible.

Breathany. No idea who on fundieblr came up with this one, but it is hilarious.

Bristol. Feels like a name from Teen Mom and sounds too much like "pistol" to really fit the sibset, but it's different enough from the sibset to avoid confusion.

Braelynn. I think Hannah has a little more sense than to use a name like this, but having 3 kids under age 3 might induce some poor judgment.

If they're doing a Renesmee-style name mash-up game:

I'm only throwing this out there because of how weird it is that "Brielle" is so similar to "Brynley Noelle." Whatever middle name they choose will end up doing the heavy lifting in determining the next child's name.

All of these names are inspired by smushing together "Brielle" and "Grace."

Bracyn. I had to get creative and throw an "n" in there at the end. This is more of a boy name in line with Ayden and Brayden, but not implausible. It's like Grayson, but worse. (If there is a "B" or "Br" theme going on, and they end up having kids in the double digits, I could see this name making an appearance later.)

Breeze. The end sound of Grace is not as buzzy as the "z" in Breeze, so this is a bit of creative license.

Gracielle, a super implausible name, or Giselle, a real name that is more in the spirit of the Renesmee game than true to the mechanics of it.

Elise or Alice, combining "Elle" and "Ace" from the ends of the two names in question. Again, more in the spirit of the theme than true to it.

If there is no theme, and Jeremiah + Hannah just have super specific tastes in names:

Emersyn. I was looking for names that match the vibe of Brynley without the matchy "ly" or "ie" ending, and I think this one is a strong contender. (Bonus points for a stupid "y.")

Paisley. NGL "Paisley" is one of those names that I know is awful, but I love it.

Hadley, Emery, Everly, or Kinsley. While these names feel more in line with the Bates family (and I'm not just saying that because Everly is a Bates name), they wouldn't surprise me coming from Jeremiah + Hannah. A few years ago, I would have said the same thing about Brynley, yet here we are.

My top guesses are Emersyn Ann, Brenna Ann, and Blakely Gloria.

next round of binderary books are done! these are some paperbacks of three wonderful fics by dear friend @bisexualbluesargentt! they are:

savior complex: the first fic i ever read by bisexualbluesargent that altered my brain chemistry...so so good. Great Pretender, laurent/makoto, post-case 4, phone calls, the ocean...as they say in their tags, it's all here! tried to mirror a lot of those elements in the design, heh. also had to google which font iPhones use and went down a rabbit hole there, which was great fun.

and eat it, too: THEE hisoillu fic for me. i reach for this fic mentally any time i need to write hisoka or illumi, it's just. SO good and so delicious! was quite pleased with this cover paper--it's a blend of dark colors (there's like...a very faint purple gradient I couldn't get to show up on my camera) and neon hisoka/illumi color-coded sprinkles which i found v fun and fitting. also did some coloring in CSP with sections of the cake graphic on the title page to make it look a little like blood/innards :3

there are violets in your eyes: MY BELOVED. this is a rebind of the same fic from 2022, which I made a post about here! it's almost exactly the same in terms of materials used and the typeset, except for the size--I'm really into quarto letter books right now, so wanted to make another to complete this set! this is such a great tamaki/kyouya fic that has lived rent-free in my mind for years now and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future. bisexualbluesargent is SO good at nailing the kind of push-pull ship dynamics that make me go insane.

(and some comparison pics with the pamphlet bind! matchy matchy heh)

Least favourite moment: i Like the dennis/yuya duel (it's like. one of the few things i actually like about that 8 episode final stretch from hell) but i gotta say i dont know how great i feel about having dennis become the dueltaining teacher to all these kids who got war displaced effectively due to. uh. his actions. yugioh i dont know about that one.

911 Spoilers Season 3: You’ve been warned. 😅 Buddie Rewatch

Episode 6-7

Episode 6: Monsters

Crow Rescue; No Buck or Lena. The 118 wearing sunglasses and being matchy matchy. Eddie points out how he’s never heard of a crow attack. Hen points out they are typically docile unless provoked.  

Something that is insignificant to the plot, but makes me strangely happy is something that was pointed out to me a while back and I remembered while watching this rescue. If you look very closely Eddie goes from wearing boots to slippers. It must have been a long shooting day.

Buck shows up for his first day back to work. He was expecting a friendly welcome, but got the cold shoulder from everyone in the firehouse. There is no welcome back banner like he had expected.

Side note, there are so many random firefighters in the 118 that we know nothing about. I wonder how they feel about the core group.

Hen surprises Buck with a small cake and welcomes Buck back. Buck admits to missing everyone and asks Hen how the fertility treatment is going. I really enjoy seeing Buck and Hen’s friendship, but this shows us how much Buck has missed because of the lawsuit.

Eddie walking into work, tired and bruised up.  Buck sees the cut/ bruise on Eddie’s elbow and asks him if he is okay. Eddie instantly annoyed gives him a bullshit response about playing with Christopher. Buck tries to have friendly banter; Eddie is having none of it and gives Buck attitude.

Buck is visibly confused but Chimney interjects by welcoming Buck back.  Eddie and Buck stand 2 feet apart as Bobby tries to do the morning brief.  The alarm goes off and Buck is told to stay behind and man the house.  Buck is standing there disappointed.

Bobby is instructing Buck on the rules and procedures of dealing with trick or treaters. Buck is confrontational and asks Bobby how much longer is he going to continue to punish him. Bobby responds back with when he finally develops patients.

Chim approaches Buck right after and repeats Booby’s sentiments. That he has to suck it up and be patient, and work a little harder. Eventually, Bobby will take him back.

Buck knows that Chim is right and tries to shift his attitude to be more eager and willing to work thru this situation, but there is no covering up Buc’s over all disappointment. Buck walks away semi defeated

Eddie approaches Chimney out of nowhere, as Chim is going to have a mental break down over a crow that no one else seems to see. Eddie looks at Chim likes he’s lost it and walks away.

Buck is bored handing out candy and getting sassed by a boy in a prisoner’s costume. This boy basically hit all of Buck’s insecurities. The 118 seems to be coming back from an emergency as this is happening.

Bobby hops out of the truck and tells Buck nice work. This moment can be seen as Bobby giving Buck a light jab, Not intended to be malicious but it could be taken as such.  

Buck calls out for Eddie and asks him if he wants to help out. Eddie wants nothing to do with Buck and basically tells him that he can handle it on his own, just how he wanted with the lawsuit.

Terrible Parents who treated their kids like prisoners; Eddie observing the area pissed off about the living conditions those poor kids where in. Every one is absolutely disgusted with those parents.

Hen taking a moment to talk to Bobby about Buck and how he needs to stop punishing him, by giving in or transferring him out.

Buck and Eddie walk towards each other. Eddie planning to just walk past him. Buck deciding that he’s not allowed to just do that and asks Eddie if this is how their relationship is going to be, if he’ll just continue to ignore him.

The camera changes and captures the moment they speak; they are visibly divided.

Eddie is not having it. Eddie doesn’t know what Buck wants from him. Buck vocalizes that he wants him to talk to him, “even if it is just to say you are still mad.”

Eddie was bout to walk away, but quickly turns back around to face Buck and say, “I’m not mad. I’m---” he pauses and takes a second to reevaluate what he’s going to say.

Eddie proceeds to tell him how his decision to pursue that lawsuit affected him what could that do to us.

Buck closes the gap between them and tries to justify why he did what he did and how he was feeling. Eddie arms cross, biting his lip, looking directly at Buck, listening. Buck admits to not wanting to hurt anyone while looking directly at Eddie.  Eddie quickly pointing out that Buck is too focused on himself and not the team.

Buck agrees with him and goes on to discuss how he was afraid of being left behind. Eddie seemingly understanding Bucks anger.  Buck asks for Eddie’s forgiveness. Eddie with zero hesitation forgives Buck. Buck seemly surprised and relieved by how quickly Eddie forgives him. There is this look in his eyes that I can only describe as desire, but not in a lustful way, it’s a wholesome look.

Let us take this moment to discuss how Eddie could not forgive Shannon, he struggled to forgive her, but easily forgave Buck.

Eddie warns him not to do it again and they give each other a hug. This hug is supposed to be big, but Eddie cuts the hug short with a slight groan. Buck is confused by Eddie pulling away. I was confused by Eddie pulling away, and then I realized he must be hurt from street fighting, because Eddie is readjusting himself.

Before Buck could process what was happening, Bobby approaches him, Eddie takes this moment to awkwardly get away.

Bobby wants to tell him something. He hesitates and instead sends him home early. Buck is not too happy about this.

Buck is at a gas station where he sees the man imbedded in a windshield. He goes into action and proceeds to rescue the woman and man who where obviously injured. He unknowingly cuts himself in the process and doesn’t realize it until a paramedic points it out to him.

Bobby goes to the hospital to see Buck. Buck is surprised to see Bobby. Bobby finally sees Buck is ready to be a firefighter. They go out for Breakfast. It feels like things will be getting back to normal.

Episode 7: Athena Begins

No Buddie. Amazing episode nonetheless. I teared up at the end of the episode. All the begins episodes are so emotional. I also think I tend to tear up the most in any Athena related emergencies.

I'm sure Conall and Lane only have the best of opinions after seeing me fail this levitation-jump five times in a row because I refused to waste a harpy snare beacon. I mean, it's a jump over the brine so I can try as many times as I want without consequence...except for the rapidly dwindling respect of my pawn's friends.

Speaking of, check out this cool underwater shot I got while getting eaten by the brine. Neat, huh?

And here's Lane kidnapping a knacker(?) that knocked me down. It always tickles me when pawns do that.

My new favourite hobby...equipping a bow specifically so that I can kick rocky saurians. And maybe also other saurian-type monsters. I'm really not too picky.

I had so much fun with Conall and Lane this past couple of sessions! We all got a little dinged up (no tank no real healer) but that might have also been because I went wandering around the volcano area and everyone kept stepping in lava rip. Nothing a little more resting couldn't solve. Sorry in advance if they complain about their burned feet when I send them back.

I actually did Lane's quest first, but sadly didn't get any pictures of us fighting the golem...s? I think we fought two of them. Yeah, one on the volcanic island and another in mainland Battahl, I'm pretty sure. Something about golems makes me forget to take pics I swear.

Anyway, this party comp is surprisingly viable. I only switched to my magick bow for things like spooky ghosts and dragonkin. Everything else was three bow one sorc baybee! SO much fun.

Hey, I've been really enjoying looking at your posts! I'm trying to start modding the Sims 2 to be medieval too and I was wondering if you had any recommended custom content or mods or anything.

Hey! Omg totally, I'd love to share. You are too kind!!

This blog started as a way for me to keep track of my own stories, honestly. I play with the intention of creating stories for my own enjoyment, and if others find them compelling that is great! That said, I typically don't play with a ton of CC. Enough to immerse me. A lot of the time, I still use base game hairs, play maxis careers, etc. I can look past a lot of things because it is just my silly little game. Info under the cut so as not to bungle up or spam anyone's feed!

I do have a decent amount of build/buy CC and clothing CC. I have gotten a lot of it from Plumbob Keep! I have spent hours just looking through all the stuff in Sundry Goods and Wares, which is their forum for any CC -- clothing, wall paints, objects, you name it. I only got what I felt was necessary to immerse myself, like I said, and have found myself looking for specific other sets to accommodate specific story needs. For example, I rolled a random event that a fucking WAR has started, so now I need some cc bandages and what not. Generally, I like looking for The Sims Medieval conversions and Skyrim conversions. I also have gotten a lot of clothing for my medieval hood and my game in general from Skell. They have done so much work repo-ing and recoloring existing Maxis meshes in a way that doesn't gunk up your CC folder and fits seamlessly with the game. A lot of my other CAS CC (hair, accessories, makeup) comes from DeeDee! I really like their maxis matchy style and the high saturation of their color pallets.

I also use a set of defaults. I have a separate folder of my default replacements labeled "DR Medieval" that I swap in when I'm about to play my medieval hood. Things like plate and bowl recolors, aspiration failure objects, etc. Almighty Hat has some great ones.

I do play with a decent bit of mods, most of which just make the game run properly -- thing things like the nounlinkondelete, smarter EP check, etc. The rest are for my own benefit and storytelling, such as the 3-2 traits project! A lot of my gameplay mods come from MidgeTheTree. Usually I'm looking at mods that expand supernatural sims to make them more fun to play (more witch spells, more plantsim shenanigans, plantsim wings to make them look like fairies, alien telepathy, hereditary supernaturalism...the list goes on) and romance/queer mods. The latter is more to make my game a little more realistic and a bit more aligned with the relationships I like to see in stories. Not in a graphic sense, but more in a "I want my queer sims to have found family, my trans sims to have reproductive autonomy, and my gay sims to marry instead of being civilly joined" type thing.

For medieval specifically, I have a few of the Sun & Moon Star Factory Mods installed. They have A LOT and it is a little overwhelming at times to be honest -- I can't imagine playing with all of their amazing sets. But, some of them are crucial to my medieval immersion -- I want my sims to have a chicken or two, and to farm, and to craft. Many of them require other sets to run, or so they say -- usually this just means a texture from another pack is required, or a core function like collecting/autonomous behavior comes from a different mod. Often times you can do without some of the required mods of theirs -- for example, I have their fishing mod, and their guide says it requires the mining mod. I have no need for a mining mod now but might in the future, so for the time being I only downloaded the physical objects I needed to run that mod -- I need this bucket or whatever, and I'll delete the rest of the mod.

I also rely heavily on random events and dice rolls, tabletop RPG style, to form my gameplay. My sims are not, for example, actually going to kill each other in war. But I AM going to roll, "ok, what are the odds that this day goes in their favor?" Usually this looks like me writing my own scenarios and assigning them numbers/chances to roll, or sometimes I use other people's ROS, like Fir3Princ3ss' medieval ROS doc.

I hope this is helpful! I know it's a lot of info lol, but I tried my best to include links to creators I like. I just try to have fun with it and have a minimal impact on my game folders!

ive been playing balatro for a few days... i just... </3 like ive learned most of the hands and everything and its just. i feel like i am missing some core part of the game? like no matter what i do it seems to just come down to i either get stuff that synergises really well and now i can get far or i dont and i get by by my now better than at the start understanding of cards but like. watching streamers play and i look away a minute andthey go from starting off to suddenly 5 jokers and a billion chips ev3ry hand from one card and its like. how.

ok anyway. all that to say i understand what youre going through this game is just difficult??? or something and the feeling like theres something weird going on is ig just part of it for now :/

I feel like part of the difficulty is due to there being a lot of math and statistics involved regarding the probability of certain cards being drawn from your hand, which gets more complicated as you start buying booster packs to expand your deck. I’ve been trying to use the function that lets you view your whole deck to see which cards you have left, but I have no idea how to use that to my advantage just yet.

I may or may not have dyscalculia as a fun accessory to my ADHD, so I’m weak in mental math and the second the numbers and/or equation complexity goes over a certain threshold, my brain’s like “🥺❓❓❓❓” The luck component makes up for the math, though, for the same reason I want to keep playing and improving even as I smack repeatedly into that initial brick wall like I have with other roguelites.

I’m also struggling a little bit with figuring out how to get flushes and straight flushes. The easiest hands for me are two pairs and other matchy-matchy combos of a kind, and I’ve only just figured out straights.

I get what you’re saying about other people’s playthroughs being hard to follow sometimes. I think that’s because of how quickly a run can change depending on what shows up at the shops, especially if they’ve got a way of reliably generating money with each blind like the Green Deck or a bonus card. You look away at another tab for a few seconds and the player’s changed their whole build around a new Joker they found between rounds before you come back.

I’m hoping I can at least absorb something by watching other peoples’ successful runs, though. I like watching players like WoolieVS who give a methodical blow-by-blow analysis of their own strategies as they learn how to play so it’s a little easier to follow along.

GP 🇫🇷 FD- omg Hannah and Ye 😭 that was beautiful - emotionally they're going deeper, not a false note - i hope they keep killing it and being rewarded so we can keep seeing them happy and hear that ahahehe laugh of hers

Olivia and Tim had some mistakes today, but i don't care lol she said in an interview earlier in the season that her turns weren't clean in practice right before that competition, but they were going for the expression first and then refining - the fine tuning and conditioning will come over time - they're still running out of energy at the very end of the FD. but i do love watching her- her OFt is huge, she makes the position changes in the serpentine lift look languid. he's a good lifter

Dupayage/Nabais had a twizzle issue and lost a couple spin levels, but i still really like this oddball program

lol the way Mark rolls the r in Corpse Brrride is great. he brought up VM twice today

L/LeG - so nerve-wracking 😨 watching that torn piece of her dress flying long and loose - glad they made it through without snagging it. this program works so well for them. and we got a slightly different angle on how she's holding herself up at the end

CPom look beautiful, and the program is gorgeous - Christina's getting so good, a bit more extension in places, keeping her frame open (idk what you call that- in that little clip of VM coaching Shoma they talk about this) esp when she faints or swoons across him would elevate this even more. i wish that lovely Sui/Han spin position started about 3 beats later with the swell of the music. Anthony looked so steady this time on that curve lift when he's on one foot. i don't totally get the other curve lift where he hoists her on his shoulder and then swings her back again

i love this program- there are great touches in the storytelling like at the end of the twizzles when he grabs her wrists, and swooshes her around in a lunge- like he has her more in his web from then - i want them to rise further with this FD, i hope it gets even more ferocious, more dreamy, or both

the US judge had them in 4th behind L/LeG in the FD (and L/B in 6th wha?) and gave McN/S a far bigger push 🤷🏻‍♀️

the camera work at this event - whyyy lol we don't need to see CPom's twizzles from foot level way across the rink and traveling away - don't be arty, just show us the skaters. why change cameras mid-twizzles for L/B

L/B are lovely skaters - i wish she'd fully extend her legs in the RoLi and ChLi - her dress is simple and elegant and perfect for her and this program; i like that his shirt isn't matchy matchy. the fact that i'm focused on the costumes probably means i wasn't totally caught up in the program this time

Lolo and Nik! i was glued to this program - he looks downright balletic in the twizzles, more emotional - the heightened music is bringing out good things, they're so invested. and she's amazing. this one made me 😭

and G/F- respect but not love is my general reaction to them. i wish it was more
